I was fortunate to visit Basquiat's studio, when he was in Los Angeles back in the 80s just before he died. I spoke with him a few times over the phone (we didn't have cells, nor the internet) and we would always agree to meet in person. We never met in person. Andy Warhol was always trying to get me to hook up with him because he considered us both graffiti artists.
