About Me:: As an outdoorsman and fly fisherman (my handle refers to a fishing technique known as the swing), I've always been caught up in the "coolness" of nature. I'm also a bit of tech head and into video games and computers and stuff. When I create a nature photo on a computer program, it's only natural that I blend these two influences.

That said, I'm into filters and HDR photography, though from time to time I do try to preserve a photo straight out of the box. Sometimes that's hard, though, when everything's in RAW format and there's so much more information in the file than what first appears in the display. I really enjoy poking around through that hidden information, adjusting levels, bringing out hues (who knew there was so much red in that?), and bending a photo almost to the breaking point, where the viewer asks, Is that real?

With the portfolio, my intent is to keep the content focused. That is to say, on this site I will only post photos that deal with natural subjects like fishing and rivers. Now that Fall is upon us, I plan to capture to the colors of the season... and I hope to catch some of the big fish that become aggressive this time of year.

For the winter, I have plans in the works to shoot at least one mountain lion chase and, if my finances permit, an extended trip to the Salmon and Clearwater Rivers in Idaho.

What other skills and talents do you possess?: Copy editing (from peer-review journal articles to book-length manuscripts). Writing. Web Design. Scrabble (What's that? Come get some).
Which individual or group inspires you the most?: Any person, idea, or thing that catches my full attention for any length of time can be attributed as one that adds to my inspiration.
From where do you draw your inspiration?: I get my inspiration from my subjects. Whenever I work to complete a photo, I always strive to capture the feelings I felt at the time I took the photo.
